Where is your heart?

Akory Iareo Kahè!

Another great week come and gone! I think that this past week was one of my happiest in Madagascar, as the expectedly dropping attendance which we were expecting to be around 15 actually turned out to be 50! As a missionary, that just made my entire day. I learned so much about enduring to the end and how great a virtue patience is. I have certainly learned that trust in the lord = miracles through good works.

This past week, we had no baptisms or confirmations, and yesterday the power was out for all of fort dauphin up until 2:30 pm, so we ended up singing acapela, which I LOVED! Not that I don't like playing the piano, but it was nice to sit in the congregation and uplift and mingle with the people. I bore my testimony about how we are children of god and that we should not fear the works of satan. I bore my testimony of the book of mormon and how it is the truest book on earth. Many other great testimonies were given that day and I am eternally grateful for those testimonies.

During this past week, I have also been able to get to know the Antandroy culture better. With some spare time, I watched some of my investigators do the Traditional Antandroy dance, which is very interesting. As for myself, I look more like a fool dancing like that. I won't be able to send a video but for those of you who would like to know what it is like, you can try searching it up on Youtube. We gave multiple blessings for the sick and the afflicted, and one in particular stuck out to me. A girl who had joint issues recieved a blessing from us (she couldn't even fidget) and the next day she shook our hands and was walking. It was a remarkable experience.

During all these experiences, I had lots of time to reflect on how much I have changed personally and spiritually. I have noticed a lot of changes for the good, and have set goals to pursue even better dreams. But, the one thing I actually really cared about was were I had put my heart. I found that it was set on making my savior and father in heaven happy because of my good works. As the scripture goes to say, Where your treasure is, so there also shall be your heart. Brothers and sisters, where are your hearts? I would invite all of you to prayerfully ponder those things, and I can promise you all that as you have your heart set on good things that good things will become a large part of your life.

Love you all and hope that this coming week will be good,

Elder Johnson

Happy birthday to Elder Lemisio! He is the one with flour and eggs all over his shirt. I got lots of egg too but the sun blotted it out of the picture

and I'm sorry if I look grumpy in one of the selfies I took, I just got done playing soccer for 2 hours in tropical weather and it was super hot XD
