Plane Ticket to Paradise!

Manahoana Daholo è!

This week has been another fantastic week in the mission field, and I with heavy heart announce that this was my last week in Itaosy 2. I will be going to a very tropical place in madagascar as my next area, an area where only 8 out of around 80 missionaries in the mission gets to go. That place is none other than Tanambao, Fort Dauphin! With that in mind, I will be taking a plane ride around the 31st from Antananarivo to Fort Dauphin. My area is fairly close to the beach, and my new companion (Elder Randrianarison) is my new companion, who is waiting for me in Fort Dauphin. My new area is called Tanambao.

This last week, Elder Smith and Leavitt and I have been running around in our areas scrambling to get lessons done. We ended up going to Ambohidrapeto, a commonly feared place amongst Itaosy missionaries. Luckily, we went through there during the day, but there was one day that we went there in the night. We were able to teach one of our newest families. The mother's name is Sitraka, with the younger kids being zo and fetra. They are a very dilligent family and we just recently put them on date. Currently, Itaosy 2 has 5 people on date. The work here is progressing very well and We have seen the abundance of god's blessing rest upon this area. I have always seen so many tender mercies throughout this particular area and throughout my mission. But to our surprise, our area is being whitewashed...again. Only about after 3 transfers, it is being whitewashed again. but, i put my trust in the missionaries coming in and I am rooting them on.

In the meantime, I am preparing big time to go to province. I feel like I did pretty good as a district leader in Itaosy and I feel satisfied with the effort that I put in. I feel that god is happy with my efforts as well and that I will do ok in Fort D.

Interesting malagasy fact

There are 3 different types of voices in the malagasy language: Active, passive, and Circumstantial. Active goes in the following manner.
"Sally threw the ball". Sally is the subject of the sentence. But when the doer becomes the topic, it follow in the passive voice, "The ball was thrown by sally". Circumstantial voice does not exist in english and is very difficult to learn. There are 5 circumstantial "triggers": Place, time, reason, way, and thing or person. For example, "Ahoana no ahafantarinareo fa marina izany?" (How can it be know by all of you that that is true?)  In Madagascar you will see many signs that says "Tsy azo Ipetrahana ato" which means "here cannot be sat on". It is implying that you cannot sit there. Interesting, right?

Love you all so much and I hope that everyone's week will go well!
