Pictures!

David found a puppy and instantly fell in love.  So tiny!

David ordered an Arabic Book of Mormon.  He's really wanting to learn another language on his mission, I guess learning Malagasy wasn't enough!

I've been asking David for a picture of his apartment (it's a weird mom thing) and so he obliged me.  He was proud that he made his bed.

I honestly don't know anything about these people, but what I do notice is that he's wearing a sweater.  It's 60 degress and that's classified as cold I guess.

More pictures of people I don't know anything about, but in the background there is an amazing house with a door to certain death, so that's fun.

New Calling

Manahoana!

This last week went really well and it went really fast as well. I would like to announce that I am now the district leader for Itaosy 1 and 2 and for ampidiatafika 1 and 2. I feel that I will do ok and that with the lord's help I will be able to be a good servant. We also had a baptism last saturday and I baptised my 6th person on the mission: Rakotomalala Durot. He is a 12 year old boy and he is a very dilligent learner. I love the guy to death and I hope that he can continue on his eternal path to happiness.

-Tuesday went really well. I got sick again with a cold so tuesday and wednesday I didn't really do anything except for study and prepare for lessons and for the upcoming baptism. On wednesday we did have a baptismal interview for Durot. It went well and he passed without a single problem. I have been so blessed to be able to work with him.

-Thursday went well too; We had our last district meeting and we had a big focus on the scriptures and how we can better use them in our lessons. We went and taught Tafita about the last part of the plan of salvation. right about in the middle of the lesson, one of her little kittens jumped out of the window and came back with a rat in its mouth, which really upset Soeur Jasmine and eventually got the rat out of its mouth and back outside.

-Friday was our last weekly planning session of the transfer. We got a lot of nice planning done and I could really feel Elder Leavitt and I get closer as we did companionship inventory. We haven't had any problems, but It is really nice to be able to get to know him better.

-Saturday was Durot's baptism. I baptised him and the water was just about as cold as mahamasina's water except it wasn't nearly as dirty as mahamasina. We didn't really get to teach anyone that day because of the baptism. The bishop was a little late so I had to extend the prelude music by about 20 minutes.

I love to look down at my chest and look at my shining black badge and look at the name of my father with the name of the savior and know that I am helping souls recieve salvation. It is one of the most satisfying feelings I have felt.

I hope you all have a great week! Mazotoa!

Living the Life

Manahoana daholo รจ!

Ah, what a great opportunity and blessing it is to be able to do the greatest work in all of what we know to be true and to be able to relate to those that I love and know! What a blessing that is from on high! I feel so love to be able to do this. I thank you all so much for all of your support and your prayers and your pleas to our father on my behalf.

This is my week

-On tuesday I had interviews with president and we had a great strengthening conversation about home. I won't lie, I do miss home. But he told me to keep  working and in a few moments I would find myself back on my living room couch. I really took his words into heart, and he also told me how much he was proud of me.

-On wednesday we had zone conference, and it was focused on the book of mormon. I have a new renewed testimony about the book of mormon and I know that it is true above all other books of this world.

-Thursday was great, we had district meeting again and we had a great question and answer session. We had a grand total of 2 questions asked (I asked both of them) But at any rate, we taught lalaina again, and he is our best investigator. I love him so much and I really admire his spiritual strength.

-Friday was ok, I was sick that day so we didnt do much, but we did do some weekly planning.

-Saturday was super great! We recieved some spice from a member because we haven't visited them in a while. Thats ok , though. We got it all sorted out and we are baptising her nephew this coming saturday.

Today I got to see the team captain of the madagascar soccer team. It was a really cool sight to see. Also, if any of you look on google maps of antananarivo, you might see a picture of a little lake with an angel in the middle of it. I went there today, and I really enjoyed it.

I love you all so much and I thank you all so much for the halfway mark wishes.

Love you all imbetsaka,

Elder Johnson

Ambodrapeto

Manahoana!

This last week has certainly been filled with tons upon tons of crazy things, the hundredth part I couldn't possibly fit inside one email. I will try to explain as much as I can;

-Tuesday was crazy because we had tons of people cancel on us again, but we were able to fill up our schedule. When we got home the other Elders that I live with told us about a place inside their area called Ambodrapeto that is probably the sketchiest place someone can serve their mission. I won't include any details due to mission rules, but all in all they related to us some of the most crazy things I have heard on my mission. I might be able to share those when I get back.

-Wednesday was great. All of our plans went through as usual and we had great succes teaching all of our people that day. We taught Letisia about the second half of the plan of salvation. She is a bit squirmy, which is ok. We also were able to get a hold of Fr Allan, who is a nonmember going through a crisis.

-Thursday was hard again since all but one of our programs fell through. The only lesson we taught was with a 12 year old girl who we put on date for next month.

-Friday went well, we had another spiritual thought with Fr Liandry and Elder Leavitt taught it. We really felt the spirit working through him to those members. After that we went to the Sr Holley soiree. the food was great! We had chicken with rice. We have that with them nearly every time!

-Saturday went pretty well as well; No mean dogs this time, but we do have a considerbale amount of witches in our area (yes, witches ARE a real thing) but we had a really successful day that day and we didn't have any of our programs fall through.

I love you all and wish the best of luck to those finishing school up.

Love,

Elder Johnson
